GREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 30, 2021 ― BFGoodrich Tires®, a leader in desert racing radial tire innovation for more than 40 years, will introduce the 18” Baja T/A®KR3 for unlimited class SCORE Trophy Truck® and Best in the Desert (BITD) Trick Truck vehicles in the first quarter of 2022.
“Being the leader of innovation in off-road racing has been key to our motorsports success for BFGoodrich,” said Tony Menard, Motorsports Director for Michelin North America, Inc. and BFGoodrich Tires. “We spent time with our athlete partners to understand what we can do to improve their performance on the course. The 18” Baja T/A KR3 is a result of determined collaboration between athletes and our technical team.”
Race teams have witnessed a fast-paced change to the unlimited class trucks with all-wheel drive popularity. Horsepower has escalated quickly in the last five seasons from multiple engine builders. The latest innovation of the race winning Baja T/A KR3 features a new 18″ seat wheel diameter to allow extra suspension and brake clearance. This allows upfitting of larger front brake packages to harness the newfound horsepower. Not only does the driver find more performance in brakes, but the shorter sidewall can improve steering response, braking and overall handling. This iteration of the Baja T/A KR3 continues to utilize the latest race-winning casing and tread compounds.
Tested in the deserts of Baja California, Mexico, and southwestern United States by championship-winning drivers, the 40×12.50R18 Baja T/A KR3 again raises the bar for the most successful brand in desert racing history: BFGoodrich. These tires are designed, engineered and made in the U.S.
